5tbspicing sugar ( add more if you want it sweeter, but be careful not to add too much as it will affect the consistency)
1tspbaking powder
a few drops of vanilla essence
Instructions
Grind the 1 and 1/2 C of almonds coarsely in a food processor and cut the rest into slivers.
Beat the egg and add it along with the baking powder and vanilla to the ground almonds and blend them till everything comes together ( but not for too long).
Place the mixture on a damp cling film, wrap it up and freeze it for an hour.
Pre heat the oven at 160 deg C
Line a baking tray.
Place small balls of the mixture ( makes about 28-30) on the lined baking tray , a little apart from each other and flatten them gently with the back of a fork.
Press some almond slivers on the top.
Bake in the centre of the pre heated oven and bake for 12 - 15 minutes or till golden.
Cool on the tray for a few minutes and transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before storing in air tight containers.
